Yahoo! news reported on June 16, 2013 that CBS sitcom “The Big Bang Theory” won big in comedy category at the Critics choice TV awards on Monday.

The show won best comedy award and with stars Kaley Cuoco and Simon Helberg winning best comedy supporting actor awards.

Best Actor in a Comedy Series was taken by Louis C.K. for his show “Louis” and Best Actress in a Comedy Series was won by Julia Louis-Dreyfus for HBO’s “Veep”.

E!Online reported on June 13, 2013 that Indian police have arrested Suraj Pancholi, boyfriend of Bollywood actress Jiah Khan, who had committed suicide last week.

Suraj, son of Bollywood couple Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab has been arrested on suspicion of abetting Jiah to suicide.

He was
remanded into custody on Tuesday by police. Jiah was found hanging in her room and as per Police, though Suraj was not present at that time, he was arrested after the dead star’s mother accused him of abusing her daughter.

Jiah had left behind a six-page suicide letter accusing an unnamed individual of rape, abuse and a abortion. The note was found by her
family while searching for her poems in her handbag.

Police said that Suraj spent two nights with the actress and was the last person she spoke to over mobile phone, before she killed herself.

Jiah Khan was born in New York and grew in London. She shot to fame after starring in “Nishabd” opposite Amitabh Bachchan and ” Ghajini” opposite Aamir Khan.

CNN website reported on April 22, 2013 that Oscar-winning actress Reese Witherspoon was jailed following a disorderly conduct charge.

Reese is charged with interfering with the arrest of her husband, Hollywood agent Jim Toth. Jim was arrested on a drunken driving charge by a Georgia state trooper First Class J. Pyland. Jim was stopped by Pyland when he weaved in and out of his lane while driving through the city’s Buckhead community. Pyland wrote that after several coordination tests and breathalyzer test, Jim was charged with driving under alcohol influence.

Three celebs Aishwarya, Kajol and Sachin came together for “Support My School” campaign

Three of the top celebs of the world were seen together at a social campaign – “Support My School” for education of school children.

Reports on Feb. 6, 2013 stated that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Kajol and Sachin Tendulkar came to support a social campaign called ‘Telethon’, which is a fundraising event that lasted for 12 hours to raise funds to support education of children. Along with these world class celebrities, the event saw the presence of many other celebrities who came to support the event and to raise funds for the same.

According to reports, the telethon was actually a part of six-month Coca-Cola NDTV “Support My School” campaign and it reportedly raised Rs. 13.6 crore, which will go towards the improvement of 272 schools across India.

Other celebrities who lent their support towards the campaign included Ayushmann Khurana and Ajay Devgan, amongst others.  The campaign which initially launched in January 2011 was designed to promote healthy active schools across the country.
